Default Darton sleeves vs. dry sleeves?

ok...since i'm only building a 250whp motor...couldn't i just go with the dry sleeves...the shop i'm looking at really knows what they're doing so it will be done right...but i wanted to get some input. remember...low horsepower build...i'm running in GTS 3 so more than 250whp puts me in a higher class which will embarrass me

OT, but how are HP-rated classes scruiteneered? Do they have a Dyno at the track, or is it on the honor system. Is it corrected HP, or do you have to worry about having different air pressures & temperatures on race-day and inadvertently breaking the HP ceiling during impound?

Scott IIRC for NASA GTS you cannot have adjustable boost in car and you have to goto a certified dyno before the start of the season and there is random testing at events for cars and top 3 finishers.

I do have adjustable boost...i just have it reported...so they'd seal my hood when they do a random test that way they know i'm not playing with the boost...i don't think you can have it in the cockpit.

Darton make wet and dry sleeves. They're the manufacturer of both types.

Why the need to sleeve ? Used block might be a better option ?

Dry sleeves are pressed into the stock bores, wet sleeves completely replace the stock cylinders.

well from all accounts dry sleeves are much easier to get right so go that way and have them oring the top of the sleeves this will reduce bore movment .
dry sleevs also give you a few more piston options compared to standard block

There's nothing wrong with dry sleeves. I think your view of them as being sub standard may have been falsely imposed on you by a lot of the posters in this forum. They will support double your hp goal, without issue.

If you have the wastegate sold what is left? Might as well part it.
