Interesting to read this Tom. I often wonder how much our stock trannys can take. So did this one not have any LSD in it, open? You will definitely need some LSD in there with that tq you've now got.
Hope you can get up an running very soon. I look forward to future dispatches from you.

It'll be back up in no time. I have the tranny ready to remove -- but ran out of time today while hunting down a transmision jack at Harbor Freight. I'll pick up some parts this week and (knock on wood) have it back on the road next weekend. The one that failed was open, but the one going in in its place is LSD. I've been meaning to put it in anyway...

Ok good news then. Is it a factory 45% LSD unit? Are you planning on tracking it or keeping it as basically a great roadcar? I know MPD47/Mike was selling a Quaife diff...

Yes, factory LSD. Not really a track car -- just a nice weekend driver.

When do you think you will be hitting the dyno? I mean obviously after the tranny goes in, but have you any idea on your hp/tq figures yet with the 3.0L?

Dyno will come in next few months most likely. It's hard to say how much power it is making. It was feeling pretty strong at 18, before the "incident" -- I would guess it was making 350ish to the wheels at 18. My old 2.5 made 355 at 23psi, and I'd say the car feels about that strong. Before going to the dyno, however, I got to get the new tranny in, and I have a few other HP-helping items to install.

Nice to know you've got 5 more psi in there or at 18psi should be pretty reliable. Is there a quick list of your mods?

Huh...welcome to my world. Second gear shattered on mine too. I've decided to get mine rebuilt with a N/A fifth gear just so I can get the thing back on the road until I get the gears for the six speed. Glad you have another to put in Tom. Look forward to seeing some numbers on it.

Hey Joe, I know you're probably just getting in... but there is an 89 tranny on ebay.

Thanks Bret, I saw that too. Then I have three trannies though. I'm just going to have mine rebuilt so I can get it on the road instead of waiting another three months for gears for the six speed. What the hell are you doing up so early on a Sunday. Oh, Happy Easter guys!

I forgot that happened to you -- hmm, a small theme develops... lovely sound when it goes, aint it?

I've got the broken one just about out, and hope to have the spare LSD installed within the next week or two (famous last words). Who will you have rebuild yours?
