Help me figure out whats going on with my vacuum lines
So I was talking with a fellow lister about vacuum lines and I realized that mine are really messed up. Physically they are fine but the arrangement makes me question my PO's intelligence.
First pic is my drawing (sorry) and the second is the lindsey diagram. On the lindsey diagram there is a blue and black valve on the left of the brake booster with a line going to it from the booster line. I do not have this valve, what is it and why is it missing?
Also on my car at the T fitting from the vacuum canister one line goes to the firewall. What is this for?
My car has perfect vacuum but I'd like to figure this out.

the line going to the canister is for vaccum stored for the heater controls- so if your car is turned off you can change settings on the heater controls and the doors will still work a few times. The check valve keep this canister from seeing positive pressure.

thanks guys! I didn't have a check valve so I got a kragen special and attached it to the hard lines with silicone vac line. I need to find some of those metal fittings like what lindsey has as I have tons of silicone line to install but no fittings.
How difficult is it to replace the line that goes down behind the cam before the heater valve?

the two hoses that attach to the firewall behind the cam for heater controls are a pain to install. I left those stock on my car even when i had the engine out!
