Question Recommended exterior doorhandle matt black paint?

I recently removed the passenger side doorhandle on the S2 to replace the broken linkage and took the opportunity to sand off the old worn finish and repaint with a matt black spray paint from a local hardware store.

Well, after several weeks the finish is not to my liking. It hasn't cured barely at all and stains to the touch when you rub it.

Can someone please recommend a better way to refinish these? TIA

Duplicolor makes a TrimPaint black that does well for this stuff.

Send them (along with some other parts) for anodize.
They usually charge by the lot.

I've used SEM Trim Black with good success.

SEM is a good product. There are several other companies that make a trim black in aerosol as well. They are pretty much comparable, just pick some up at an automotive paint store. If it is humid when you spray, be careful not to put it on too wet as it is prone to blushing. "Black Satin" has been around the longest and is very sensitive to blushing. Whichever brand you choose, it should last a long time and is easy to touch up.

Thanks guys. I'll see what trim paints are available to me locally. Maybe I can find a place that does anodizing. Door handles aren't really that large, either.

Why not anodize it yourself... After all, it's not that hard.
