that just depends on you really. Looks like the car has some nice things. I'd guess low $15.5 if he wanted to move it quick to $20k depending how proud the owner is; he may want more too, $23.5 would be my top estimate

Excellance's recent market report claims a stock '89 in excelllant condition is about $17k; and a good about $13k. Add a value for the mods, if that is what you want to pay for. Whether stock or not, I don't consider a 951 a collectible. And that includes my stock '88 951S. If you buy this '89 drive it.

I just notice that you are located in Canada well, that's different I am sure you can sell it for more in Canada but the US market is low.

When it comes to the car being a piece of machinery, and nothing more, I'd agree with lart. Its a vehicle that's aged and still isn't viewed by most as a collectible. With that said, I understand that it does have a certain value for the owner, but remember, its still just a car.
Say there is an annonymous identity for two cars.
Car A is 20 years old and costs 20,000 dollars. Car B is 5 years old and is the same price. Knowing little about each car, besides condition and body style (both are good condition and similar style car), which seems to be the wiser choice? I couldn't justify so much money for a 944.
Not when I got a list of 18 Corvettes '95 and newer under 20k within 25 miles of my ZIP code.

The flip side of my argument is that a car, any car, is going to be worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. That is also influenced by things like brand name, heritage, and seller/buyer demand. If a buyer wants a particular vehicle, the seller states a price that he would want in fair compensation. The compromise of bargaining reveals what the car is worth to the seller and buyer (to a certain extent).
This is why I hate dealerships so much. I don't see how they can justify selling a car for a certain price while offering far less on trade-ins. The whole market value thing is skewed.

In Canada, that's an easy $25K car...
assuming it's clean and the modifications are done done correctly and cleanly (that's a BIG if).
If it's a hack job, I'd say 15K. Cleaning up someones mess is never fun, or cheap.
I just helped another Porsche owner (996 turbo), buy a very clean bone stock '89 turboS for 23K - he's going to turn it into a track car...

Owner - proud of his accomplishments
Buyer - you paid retail for that stuff?
Sounds like the car is street/track or someone has a really "good-n-tight" street car. The car has an easy
$7-$10k in mods; you like them - you'll pay for them. I would bet there is some negotiation built into the price as well, as we all would do. The coil overs, Charlie Arms, 968 hatch, big brakes, and TRS spoiler, are all nice mods.
Example of our old 87 track car. Koni Racing coil overs, twin coolers, Charlie arms, RE bushings, 89 LSD unit, 2 sets Kinesis K27, Le Mans spoiler, AIR race splitter and spare, TRC quick release, Sparco seats, spare block -$hit, lots of spares etc etc. 366/358 @17psi price???
