I hope this answers your question

1 bar at 2800….piece of cake, all my set ups can run at 1 bar absolute even when the engine isn’t running…..
we will see what happens

There ya go!

From the engine/internals point of view you can't get much better of an expert endorsement than from Chris.

Of course some head work would make the task much easier. But I think the secret will be in the turbo choice. There have been plenty of people in here that run 20psi on pump and never any problems on the street. Track??? not so sure that much on pump.

But the right turbo, 20psi (give or take) solid motor with maybe some internals worked, especially the head, and you should be ok. Especially after Chris' statements you should be much more convinced you can pull it off.

No, it will make it possible. And only with a cam as well.

Sorry Reno, I missed the post where you said you'll change everything but the shortblock.

But I'm still doubting the 1 Bar by 2800 RPM unless you're running an excessive amount of boost on an excessively expensive turbo with an excessive amount of fabrication to fit.

This maybe a little of topic but; toddk911, How do you like the super 75 turbo? I am looking to purchase that one but have second thoughts about the lag i keep hearing about. I will be using it with a 2.7. When do yo reach 1 bar?

With the 2.5, exhaust header leak and some fine tuning that could happen, I get 1 bar about 3,800-3,900. I think most of that lag is the leak, as once the turbo is flowing and velocity built, it spools very fast.

i.e. 0-10 psi is slow, but 10-20psi is FAST.

I think George D is using the 75 on his 2.7/3.0 and was seeing much quicker spool.

With no leaks, dead on tuning, I have been told I could see 1 bar about 400-500 rpm sooner, best case scenario.

So with no leaks, good tuning, etc. and the 2.7, I would say you could get 1 bar by 3,200-3,300. But this turbo also can easily run 20+psi to redline and past and still make power and not just more heat.

But so you know, this really is a "top end" turbo for someone that is more about full power to redline and not tapping the pedal and the tires spinning. If you want to spin tires in 3rd at 4K rpm, then this is not your turbo.

But I feel that when you hit the gas and are always spinning tires (full boost at 2,200rpm) or have to be in a straight line when you hit the gas then that is not usable power either; not all that streetable.

My dyno showed a VERY linear roll on of the power; Like an NA car. Not the instant tq of an NA car, but still holding almost full tq to about 5K with stock internals, cam and valve train.
