Again this isn't my calculation, just what was recommended many times over. You don't have to be a jerk about it, just post something more useful if my post wasn't good enough. ....nah ya know this doesn't even deserve a response....just Wow! is all I have to say.

My apologies , I never said it was your calculations, i was merely attempting to show the inadequacies of the formula you presented and mistook your popinjay response as being on the offense, as your comments Well he's not building one of "these" and this You could also account for altitude change, global warming, people starving in Africa, and men horny in Canada or this if you have any common sense at all. as a" tempered " response
my apologies if not so .... by the way would you happen to have any grey poupon ?

That formula you have choosen is about as accurate as a lucky guess, It does not account for RPM
500 bhp at 9000 rpm requires bigger injectors than 500 bhp @ 6000 rpm
Why does this not sound correct????

Swing on in Mr M42 Spacer.......
When you do get beyond 500 bhp you will become more focused and the little raindrops will make more sense..

Ooh Kay?? I think the healing process is starting to take effect. Class, can't you just taste that warm and fuzzy to atmos feeling that is flowing around here? Hahah. Anyway this is more as an education for me. I can just email Neil and get the correct answer as M42 says (despite AW's obvious admiration lol). Although I don't like to bother the busy man with my every pesky question.
As for staggered injectors, I haven't even considered this as this build is only for an interim motor that will potter around on approx. 500hp. We might do the E85 at a later date in which case we will need to uprate the fuel pump/s and possibly the injectors? as we will need to use 30% more fuel. It wouldn't be too hard to build this for over 600hp but that's not the object either. Not on this one anyway.

Mikael, I was going to email you to check up on how you were going and ask about your experience with LINK. Probably still will.
Andrew, you were also on my list. I need to run a couple things by you as well. I have 83lb injectors, what do these equate to in cc's?
Duke, I spoke to Zoran yesterday and he has gone over that level on higher boost. I believe he may have experienced some head lift after that but I'll have to check.

Ok, but then you are basically going to be running at whatever limitations that particular inj has. So at eg 80% d/c these might flow 'x' then coupled with whatever else is in the engine, this will determine the hp/tq outcome? Conversely if we put all the stuff (components) in a pile can we figure out the potential of this engine at a certain psi level? My tiny brain starts to go around in ever decreasing circles about now.
^^EDIT^^ Ok thanks Andrew that about says it all.

Just nuke the lot and start again.
I'm not sure where your email reply will turn up? I've not used the Rennlist email system much if ever. You can get me on my normal email which you still may have. pgarvan@bigpond.net.au

Imagine the engine spinning at 180000 rpm... do you still think that there is enough time frame for 1 injector to stay open say 8 ms?
