Default (New here)Lindsey vs Vitesse

Hi, I am looking to buy a new Turbo, Wastegate, Injectors, Chips, Piggyback fuel controller, exhaust(cat delete), MAF system, Wideband O2, Adjustable bypass valve, plugs & wires, Hardpipes ,vacuum lines etc...

Right now I am getting all the bugs out of my 86 951 with 92,000 miles.
I have replaced the radiator, turbo waterpump, thermostat, fan temp, waterpump, t-belt, b-belt,rollers and waiting for a new TPS.

In March I will probably be spending $5,000 for these goodies. Then as a winter project take out the motor, bore and rebuild it.

I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on which products would be the best?? For example Tail wastegate or the Dual port?/ Vitessi Turbo or Lindsey DBB super 75?/ Mafterburner or vitessefuel piggyback contoller?/ Lindsey 4 inch exhaust?/ 951 maxhp chips?/ You get what I mean.......

Vitesse gives little information on there website so wondering if anyone has any past expeirence. Thanks in advance
-Adrian

Before anyone flames you, this is a huge debate and is akin to asking Coke vs Pepsi or Bush vs Gore.

There is a search link at the top of the page. Just using the terms Lindsey and Vitesse should net you about five days worth of reading. If you have specific questions, then post away.

I'm sorry if that is not super helpful, but your question is one that starts huge flame wars. There are many happy customers of both Lindsey and Vitesse, as well as others like Speedforce Racing. All bring a lot to the 944 community. I've bought items from all three of the vendors above and would do business with all of them again. I am going with a Vitesse Stage 2 with IC pipes, Tial 38mm, and exhaust from SFR.

Sounds like you have done some of the basics. Use the two months you have to research. Start with a target goal in mind... how many horsepower do you want for that 5K. Good luck, and remember to post pics!

both are great vendors and both post on this website. John at vitesse is a great source of knowledge and i would love to have one of his kits. Lindsey is great as well and i have many LR parts on my car. Really it comes down to which you prefer.

Having installed both products (jwl 2.8L VR - my 2.5 LR and the track car is LR based but with VR old software), both are great vendors, equipment is good, and both know the items they sell. Most issues that anyone has with their stuff is the end user failure to wire it right or follow the instructions - which is why most people here tell you to stick to one vendor, as it helps with troubleshooting and diagnostics. Usually a phone call or email will get you going. good luck with your decision

jwl 2.8L with VR Stage IV with SMT6 - this is the red car engine on VR site

my 2.5L with LR 340 kit, Mafterburner

track car, which uses both but both of us have a bit of experience with this stuff

Welcome. lol. The flaming doesn't usually get aimed at the poster, in this debate, it almost always gets aimed at those taking one side or the other. It's good to see that we seem to be tired of the debate! ROFL

Having installed/driven both. My preference is Vitesse for out of the box performance and support when you actually need it. Lindsey typically gets my business for almost everything else.

BTW, it appears you're using the wrong coolant in that photo.

You can build a bad a$$ car going with either vendor or using bits from both.
