clutch housing wont come off...help
Hi Guys, can I please have some help, I have the engine out of my car sitting on the ground, I had to end up taking off the torque tube bolts as the clutch housing would not come off the engine, I am sure I am missing some thing simple here, but having read Clarks engine removal plus the factory manual I dont know what it is.
I cant get the clutch housing off, the bolts are obviously all undone, there is about a 10mm gap between the engine and housing but it wont slide off. I have tried leverage but a little worried about using too much.
Do these sieze on, if so whats the course of action to remove them please?
thanks
mike

I made a clutch fork removal "tool" by going and getting a metric stud and two bolts. Then I attached a pair of vise grips just above the bolts and wacked it like a slide hammer. Out she came.

Nope.
If you have removed the clutch fork pin, and the speed and reference sensors and still hang up on something, it'll be the bracket for the speed and reference sensors. It sticks down into the clutch bell housing just to provide that little extra PITA when doing a clutch replacement.

if it is already loose but wont get out, like something is holding it in the center it is the fork pin, you will have to remove the bolt that secure the pin first (upper part of where the starter goes) and them put a 8mm bolt in the pin (side of the bolt that you just take out), with a grip plier in the bolt then with a big screwdriver hammer it . Once you take that out you will find another problem, the cheese bolts...

remove the clutch fork pin, and the housing will come off.
If the pin is seized I was able to knock it out from the other side with a punch and hammer. remember to undo the bolt that retains the pin

Come down around midday if you can. Not sure what time they close on a Sat although I think Sean is putting his motor back together today so he'll be there all day. He can knock it over in 2.5 days now. Lots of practice.
