you would need to buy a new bov that doesnt vent back to your intake, then plug the extra hole. This is not optimal unless your running a map based system though

If you switch out your wastegate with a dual port (like the Tial 38), and have it vent to atmosphere, this should give you the desired effect....

EDIT: yeah yeah, I ment BOV not wastegate..... long day....

you can cap the hole that goes into the j-boot and just turn the recirc valve sideways so it blows out instead of recirculating. Sure it'll have a hell of a rich spot but its cool right!

Easier yet, just roll down your window, lean over and say "choo" whenever you think anyone who cares is listening.

Time to go back to school and study turbo systems I'm afraid - look up what a Blow Off Valve does and what a Wastegate does and then where they are positioned in the system. What he is looking for is a replacement BOV that is vented to atmosphere - not a wastegate. Changing the wastegate will not give you the "choo" sound that he is looking for. The "choo" sound is made when you shift gears under boost and it's a result of the high pressure air hitting the closed throttle plates and being diverted out a BOV that is vented to atmosphere. The wastegate is on the exhaust side of the turbo and not related to the "choo" sound.

P.S. Several companies (HKS, Greddy, Turbo XS, etc.) make Blow Off Valves and they put horns on them to accentuate the sound. I believe the Turbo XS valves are the loudest however a friend had one and the spring in it was not strong enough to prevent leaks.

If you do a search there are a few people running blow off valves that make the "choo" sound your looking for. Most people run the recirculating ones the minimize the turbo lag. But to each and there own.
