Default Fog eyes and the interior...

No comment on the pop-ups. I like the 928 to an extent, but I dislike the interior design; all years. The gauge surround reminds me of the old 1990 Talon TSI AWD I had. The 85.5+ 944 interior, in my opinion, is one of the better interior designs to come out of the 80's. Sometimes the 944's color palette can be interesting though...

I am very picky about interiors since it is what I have to be surrounded by while driving the car.

I think the 928 has by far one of the nicest interior designs of all times. It has been copied by many over the years. It was way ahead of its time. We need to give credit where credit is due.
This is a funny rivalry.

May I add that the 928 interior hasn't aged one bit, which is another testimony to its design.

Please do not get me wrong, I like the 928. It is an important part of the Porsche family of models. I do not believe the 944/951 is superior to 928. Both cars are distinctly their own, however, each share two important features: front-engined rear-transaxled and water cooled. It just happens that the 951 is a better match to my taste: smaller displacement and force induction.

I am sure of its inspiration for future designs. However, I dislike the switches, climate control, and the center console design. I can appreciate it for its forward looking design and being distinctly different. It is just not my taste. I know many of the 80's BMWs and Mercs are very angular and square (and I do have a fondness for e28's).

For instance, I can appreciate the design influences of the e34/e38 in the e39 body and interior. However, I love the e39 so much more (and I will own another one).

I appreciate heritage and cutting edge design with vehicles and most everything else. However, it does not mean I want the "original."

Ever wonder where they copied the design from?? What does it matter who's faster anyway? And as far as those who call 951's "fake Porsches," well I own a "real" Porsche - 911S - as well as a 951 and 968 and guess what.....the 911 isn't much faster than the 968, and theres no comparison when it comes to the 951. That said, they're all have their own charm, and they're ALL Porsches in the end.

Oh, no doubt that Mitsubishi and Chrysler copied the design. I am not a big fan of the early DSM interior either. Especially those darn automatic seatbelts.

Awww Come on...Everyone knows the 928 is just a hot rod AMC Pacer

I loved my 928 and hated to see it drive away when I finally had to let it go.

Whew!! I just got out of detention for skipping Ms. Cougars social studies class and I see the thread is doing well. Us 951 guys being all grade schoolers and all. I did though, have enough time to do some shopping and picked up a nice white flag, just in case a 928 pulls up next to me.

Are you saying that your 150 HP 76 911 is faster than your 968?

Last night I had a dream.

In my dream I weighed 400 pounds and was one of the lucky few to get a slot on the TV show “The Biggest Loser”. Amongst my personal items was a picture of a 928.

This picture was placed in my luggage during the 16 week weight loss / exercise routine. During this time, I lost 200 pounds, and felt stronger, faster, and in much better health than I have ever been before.

When I got home and was unpacking, I got out my picture. Lo and behold, my 928 had turned into a 951.
