If you turn the boost up you will achieve it. One of the things that makes it difficult for us is that 4-5 shift, 5th is SOOOO long. Which is why I'm glad I'm 968 boxed now.

I'm 100% sure my setup from '06 would've hit 160 in the standing mile, maybe even on pump gas at the 394whp figure. Hell it trapped 117 in the 1/4 rolling over the lights dead for almost 250ft.

I have been saying I was going to do the Maxton Mile in the spring as it's MUCH closer, but if there is a LARGE Rennlist contingent going the Texas Mile I might be convinced to make the long haul down there to attend, but only if there is some stiff competition and **** talking of course.

I am going to load her up with some race gas, turn up the boost and drive my 944 grenade like there is no tomarrow. I ve been dying to use the little switch for the "race fuel" map (: Hopefully I will be able to do it, just gotta get the steering sorted out and fix my turbo and get my splitter and fix my valvetrain........... good thing Im getting started this week!

140-ish. I think Andrew's 951 was pretty stock and he was in the 141-142 range.

You and me both. I've got most of the parts I need, just need to get it all installed. Dunno if I'll have 350, but 340 to the wheels should be within reach.

Sometimes the March runs get jacked up with windy conditions. Keep your fingers crossed the weather behaves next year.

hopefully scot gomes will be here soon he was quick to get the V Max formulas out for the other thread .
I know 110 @400 is realistic so at that point your at 49M/s if you can pull 110 to 160 in less than 19 sec i think you'll get there
make sure the jump ramp is not to bumpy.
what was that guys name with the rocket car??? damn thats a funny story

I can hit 194mph with my car but I don't know how long it would take to get from a stand still to 160. I think I could do it though. It's all about your tq. I've got a pretty good amout of it.

I know ST could do it with his power. He has the S2 gearing too right? What is the final drive ratio of the S2 anyway?

Joe, the S2 is 3.875. I am certain ST would have plenty of hp, tq, and better acceleration with the lower gearing, but it's possible with the lower cw&p that it may not do 160 mph? Someone can figure it out.
Good link is this and see the top left hand side for '944/951 gear ratios.

Oh and why is 160mph the number in question anyway?

I don't know why 160 is the magic number. That's the number used in starting this thread.

3.875!? That's short! I would have a hard time thinking you can get any good use of your power band through that. You just keep shifting. His car is way too powerful for that gearing. Hell I slip at 90 on an entrance ramp and I have an 89 Turbo S with an LSD...I mean had.

Joe - I had to put a turbo s back in my car because I was hitting the limiter in 4th on the S2 in the 1/4 mile.

I would think that would work out better for you all the way around. No?

And wait a minute! What the hell are you doing up so late...or early?
