Default Best way to Insulate Turbo Hotside

Ok Guys

So what in your collective opinion is the best way to insulate a turbo hot side?

Is it possible to somehow wrap the the hotside or coat is with something to keep the engine temps in check?

What do you guys think?

i would say the turbo bag or beenie with the foil on the outside as using insulating cloth can catch oil and be come a fire hasard

LR has a new turbo insulator thing that isn't on their web site yet. Fits TO4. I think they are calling it a Turbo Blanket.

That looks EXACTLY like mine did before I put it in. I have the Lindsey super 61 dry with the 3 piece crossover. I wrapped just like that, down to the connecting point of the crossover. The pipe is on the turbo, then wrapped so it is one piece. Anyways, I am happy with my results and temp. My turbo is only oil cooled too. I wrapped my headers as well. I didn't wrap the whole crossover because I do drive my car some when it rains plus I didn't want to worry about oil dripping on it and causing a fire/smoking.

What about Swain Tech? Compared to the insulating ability of the wraps, how does the White Lighning stack up? Anyone?

I have used Swain's White Lightning, Jet Hot 2000 Black and currently using wrap method like 333"s picture all of them work well, oil soak and fire could be an issue with the wrap, just make sure you not driving a leaker

Exactly....!

I never understood the standpoint of oil leak concerns on header wrap, turbo blankets etc., when someone is investing $15oo on a turbocharger and $$ on other mods to go along with it.

Make sure your engine isn't leaking before going the upgrade route.

944 engines aren't notorious for springing massive oil leaks out of nowhere, especially in the area of the turbo unless we're talking about an improperly installed pan gasket or one that's 20+ years old....!

'Sup by the way David......?
