Default 968 rockers installed on 951. Now with a picture.

I bought the 968 rockers from AIR for the 944. This is my official review.

The "instructions" say "some minor trimming may be required". Try like 6 hours per side if you arent a wiz at body work. if you are looking for something bolt on, these are not for you.

The fit is crappy. They arent bent quite right, they are too long in some places, and too short in otehrs. You have to drill holes in the body to install them. You have to bend the crap out of your fenders to get them to line up right.

The look is pretty good, except that you can see the monting screws under the door. Im working on a solution to this.

I ALREADY CRACKED ONE! If you plan on driving over an big speed bumps, you can forget these. Near the rear wheel well, they are pretty low. About 1/2 inch lower than the stock pieces all around.

They dont really look right without a front splitter, i'm working on picking one up.

Overall its 50/50. Good look, but it is a bit rough around the edges and a PITA to install. If your rockers are in good shape i wouldnt bother unless you are paying a pro to install them or something. Mine already had about 20 holes drilled in them from where the 930 trim was mounted so while they arent perfect, its an improvement in my case.

Pics coming soon.

good review ryan. I'm looking forward to the pics. This is OT but it got me thinking I think my favorite upgrade on my car besides the new 2.8L i'm finishing up are the 968 door panels with upgraded speakers. They came off a 94 so not only do they look new but the cosmetic appeal is so much better than stock. I really think they give the car a modern look. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone looking for cosmetic upgrade.

Didn't you have a front splitter on the car?

i bought an AIR vented nose panel and took me about 6 hrs to fit it right....and I'm quite proficient at bodywork!

yeah gt racing's/AIR's crappiness almost makes me want to go into the biz myself and build something worth a damn.

I'm guessing the rockers simply provide cosmetic appeal to some?? Is there any other benefit I'm over looking??

Nope, purely vanity. In my case, it helped to cover up some body damage.

Were those real 968 pieces? Mine seem to be a bit different than those. They fit better in some areas.
