I rebuilt my motor and now dont have my tech or boost guage working. is there a fuse that powers both of those? Everything else works.

Without knowing the year there are 2 answers
86 - RED 4-pin connector in the passenger footwell
87+ BLACK 8-pin flat connector in the passenger footwell

One of those 2 is unplugged. If it's 87+ your low oil light should also be on with the master caution light since it is in the same connector.

had that problem years ago on my 86... it was finally a stupid relay I replaced... Problem is I can't remember which relay and I don't think it's labled obviously.

cool. Mines a 88' so ill look for the missing connection, and if that doesnt work then I will check the relays.

BTW: where does the connection hook too? just another harness that goes where?

From the engine harness. There is the DME plug (big, white), the KLR plug (also big, white), the boost line, and a flat 8-pin connector, about 2" wide and 1/4" thick. Strange that your low oil light isn't on if this is the problem.

was the cluster out?
one of the connectors on the back of the instrument cluster gets a signal from banjo line to the manifold for the boost gage.

The factory boost gauge is electronic, driven by a wire coming from the KLR. The boost line (vacuum hose) from the intake manifold goes to the KLR, and the KLR then generates the electric signal for the gauge.

Your low oil light may be malfunctioning if that connector is not connected. The yellow/white wire should be grounded to signal that the oil level is fine, so if the light isn't triggered when it is open then something is wrong. That said, the light comes on when it's too late anyways, and just be happy that it isn't stuck on like mine.
