Whats better solid engine mounts or solid trans mount or both?
This is for a de/ weekend car given that the engine and trans mount are in good cond. From what my friend told me and heard I will most likely go wtih a solid engine mount and keep the stock trans mount. But i want to see what are you guys going with or have?

From what I understand you should either have all of one or the other, because the the engine and trans are solid mounted to eachother via the torque tube.
I'm sure you'll get lots of responses saying otherwise.

IMHO the solid engine mounts are good because they will probably outlast your car..but I am led to believe and it makes sense that thier is more sound and vibration transferred inside the vehicle.. so I'll pass.. BUT I would like to have some time to put in a solid trans mount because it helps the tranny from swaying and there are good threads on here about how much the tranny moves and what can happen when it does. THen again thats not really under "normal" driving conditions but it's where I fit.

I have a solid trans mount and new OEM engine mounts. I did the solid trans mount because I installed a short shift kit (which I really like) and thought the less movement back there and along the shift rod would produce a crisper shift. Seems to work ok for me. I will say the solid trans mount transmits a lot of noise, particularly gear whine into the cabin. I have removed the rear seat and don't have any carpeting or insulation from there back so you hear everything. My videos almost sound like what you hear from in car video from Grand-am cars transmissions (I wish).

Given that you don't care about noise, you may want to look at the solid trans mount. It will give you crisper shifting and be more solid than the factory one. The engine mounts? I agree with streckfu's on that. Be prepared if you use that soild transmount, for it will be loud and whine a lot! I had one, and for a street car, would never use it again. That's my 2 pennies.
