solid trans mount for sure. I was very surprised to discover how much movement even a new mount has.
Picked one up almost half price from one of those weenies that said it was too loud in their car

I love it

I have a solid transmission mount and love the gear whine.

I have always wondered about the 'idea' that the solid trans mount helps the precision of the shifter. The entire shifting mechanism is mounted to the torque tube and transmission (which is solidly bolted together). There is absolutely no interface with the chassis / body anywhere. So the solid trans mount cannot make the shift linkage work differently. The only noticeable difference is that he shift lever will move around less – so this is really a matter of perception. The precision / movement of the linkage has not changed, only the relative position of the shifter. Not an issue for me….works just fine as is.
And to reiterate what others have said – the solid trans mount is NOISY….and not a pleasant noise either!

Not too bad. I did mine earlier this year. Here's a thread I started since I had never done it before, with some info that might be helpful - https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=mount

+1!

I also have Kokeln solid engine mounts, but I am not sure if I will be using those. The stories of internal engine parts working loose due to vibration has me concerned.

i have a solid trans mount for my car- but im wondering if its going to be just as noisy as the trans braket i made. It transfers the vibration of the drivetrain through the back of the car.

I installed a Lindsey solid trans mount when my original mount went bad. It does make more gear noise in the car but not too bad. I only notice it a slow speeds. There is a way you can eliminate a little of the gear noise like I did. When you install the mount to the cross bar there are 4 bolts IIRC. I took a strong thin piece of rubber and mounted in between the mount and the cross bar. Then I did the same thing on both sides of the cross bar where it attaches to the "frame". This eliminated the metal to metal contact points and the related gear noise considerably. The rubber was 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and does not allow any movement of the bar or trans mount.

It took me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours with the car on jack stands. It is a fairly easy job.

My plan is to run semi solid engine mounts and a solid trans mount. Anybody else using this setup?

So i am guessing the consensus is its okay to run a solid trans mount with OEM engine mounts?
