This is the same car that was in Bob's collection. It was discussed earlier this year (May) when it was put on e-bay. Starting bid was $35,000.00 and it received no bids.

That car is way overpriced but if someone is willing to pay it.....power to them.

If you ever wanted to drive it, imagine all the work that have to go into it. Every bit of rubber (hoses, seals, etc) would need to be replaced.
That depends how it was stored. I have a customer with 2 1967 427ci Corvettes that came right off the factory floor. They have never even been started nor had any fluids put in them. Both of course with 0 actual miles. He has kept them in a temperature and humidty control room since.

Now granted the pre-lube or whatever they used in '67 may have hardened or dried up but both cars are BRAND NEW. I have been through those cars extensively inside and out and the only sign of age is a couple specs of rust on the bare cast iron suspension parts and I really mean a couple, specs about the size of a thick pencil tip. All the rubber, tires, belts, appear exactly as they did in 67, no cracks nor any signs of degrading. Aside from the issue with the engine pre-lube, I am completely confident either car could be driven as it was new.....I guess you could call these "new old stock". lol

If this 951 was stored properly there shouldnt be much of an issue with needing to replace much. I am sure for that price the recent service included and belt/hose inspection and replacement if needed.

Also about the price, if I had the money I'd buy it then make it a full track only car.... then again thats probably why I don't have that kind of money to spend on a whim.

Nice car, I think the rockers kill any chance of every getting that price. If it only had 1400 miles, still had the window sticker on it (never removed), and was ALL original- there would be hope.

Still-- it is one of the nicest 951s I have ever seen, and I would kill to have it. . . .

I had never seen those seats b4 seeing that picture. WOW. reminds me of that scene in Spaceballs: The Movie when the ship flies past the Winnebago and leaves everyone checker patterned. "They've gone to Plaid!"

That is how the first 1000 951S models looked. After that initial production run, they started using standard colors and interiors.

Here is an interior picture of a 1979 924S Sebring edition with the plaid seats. This car has about 30k miles and was advertised for $12k. Saw the owners last month and the car is still for sale.

It's a garage queen and has won several concours.

Upping the price can work. It's done in realestate all the time. You get new people looking at only that price range, because they figure anything below it won't be worth it. Also that's a dealer selling so it's an asking price, and if you go to the show room with a print out of that ebay page the haggling time would be cut pretty short.

I'm no appraiser but those ~8~ miles that have been put on it since May might depreciate it some
