BTW Fishey, I think you are thinking about this the right way: either replicate a "spec" suspension OR go big and do it all the first time (so that you do not end up upgrading the car multiple times over the years).

Well, I agree with that but what I am saying is that you can spend $20,000 on a suspension and get alot of cool stuff but if you don't set it up right its not going to perform as good as a $2,000 system that has been dialed in. I see alot of 944 track cars that just don't get the job done even if its on a large budget.

Yes that is true. Also a $2000 suspension will get you 95% of the performance of the $20,000 suspension if both are well tuned. Approaching that final 100% is what gets really really expensive. However racing a 95% car vrs 98% cars leaves you in game, but never in contention. That is one reason in 944 spec we require a 95% suspension. It makes it pretty easy to do cost wise to get to 94% and that last 1% is all in tuning. It does not make thing perfect, but alot closer for alot less $$$$$$$$.

I don't expect to win any races with this car and may end up racing back in the pack with the 944NAs that usually run in the same race, so a 95% suspension is probably good enough. If I were starting over, I would probably go with an NA car but I already have the 951.
The Paragon coilovers are double adjustable, while the GC units don't say what they are. both are Koni, but Paragon requires a core charge of $600 for your old shocks. ??????????

The camber plates and coil over sleeve are from ground control. The shocks are off the shelf Koni's that have been made in to double adjustable.
I use this on my 944 spec car. Same the "coil over kit", but sperately purchsed camber plate, ride height and off the shelf Koni in a stock early stut housing.

You can only get about 1/2 from the rear before you need to index the t-bars. Front need the could over sleeves, but you can save $$$ by using your existing shocks.

I should show you pictures of my 951. It has the M030 front spring perches so I could lower the front with ease, but it is lowered on the rear spring plate and also a matching level in front. It is about as low as I would want a street car as even with 16's it looks good, but is not too low. My 944 spec car is lowered 2" or so and that is really low. Ok given the stiff suspension, but not good with soft street springs.

First off, the cores required for this conversion that Paragon lists are either 474 factory single adjustable Konis or the Mo30 units.
They send them to Koni NA and have them converted to double adjustable, the perch is removed and a threaded sleeve added.
To complete a working strut assembly you'll need hats, springs and bump rubbers.
If you don't have strut cores, add $600 to the price listed at their site.

Sell your Turbo buy an already prepared Naturally Aspirated car. It will cost you a lot less, and will cost a lot less to keep racing, and be more reliable..
