I have a chance to get a K27/8 turbo brand new for a good price. Is this a worth while turbo to look into or should I just save my money and get something bigger? Thanks for any advice!

You've likely started another "which turbo is better" thread here
, but I have a K27/8 in mine and I like it. There are stronger and quicker spooling, but the K27/8 is plenty strong and holds boost well to redline. Boost comes on about 3500 rpm in mine (with Vitesse MAF).

Mine dyno'd at 290 rwhp but suspect some tuning could get a little more. I was expecting more like 320 with my setup. I've heard people talking of 350+ with this turbo, but others will need to chime in on that.

What are you paying. Don't forget that that turbo needs chips, downpipe, minimum 3 bar FPR, and a few other little things. This should not be just a bolt on situation.
My K27/6 got 330whp at 19psi. Car ran very well with full boost by 3500rpm. This turbo should flow to 350whp with everything set up properly. This was 8 years ago running Authority chips and a Huntley MAF with a Split Second ARC 2.
One thing is certain, a properly built K27 lasts a very long time.

Well my car is totalyl stock but I do have plans/goals for at least 350rwhp. I understand i need supposrting mods but if a good deal comes along I'll have to purchase, out of order. I was looking for a MAF when this deal came along. we'll see.
