Default Bigger Injectors Advice

I pulled of my intake this weekend and 1 of my injectors broke and the caps on 2/4 broke off so I need injectors sooner than I expected.

I want to upgrade my injectors as I will be buying 951Max chips, currently have either Lindseys or some other brand according to PO.

I have a 3bar Fuel reg, MBC, 3" exhaust without a cat, Venturi delete, unknown wastegate, and stock k26/6 turbo.

I know Vitesse sells a set for $325 of 55lb injectors, but I want to spend around $200-250 for a set of 4 somewhere in the 40-55# range.
Where are all the good deals?? I want something plug n play, I dont want to mess with resistors.

Racetronix. That is where I got mine. Here are two different brands, both around 55lbs:

55lbs Siemens

55lbs Delphis

Thanks those Delphi's are a great price, and I don't need resistors for either of those right?

If you track the car, I would use resistors (every aftermarket injector 'needs' resistors). But many have had good results for street cars without resistors.

You are doing exactly what I did a month ago! I went with the 55# siemens from vitesse.

Search under way..

What about these injectors, they are Bosch but do not look like they will clip into the fuel rail?

+2 for Racetronix Siemens #3102's. They're cheap but excellent quality. I've used those on my 951 for the past year and they worked just fine. I'm also using them on my 911 and they've worked fine as well.

I don't think those will fit. Also, you get what you pay for. Siemens look just like the OE bosch just the upper part is black not green. Siemens are still german made too!

Are you running Resistors? I only plan on running 15-16 lbs boost or where-ever the 26/8 runs out of efficentcy

Thanks

I don't run resistors.. But I have pretty low injector duty cycles (because of the large injectors).

What are the purposes of the resistors and why wouldn't you need them if you have a low duty cycle? I'm currently looking to install 72lb injectors while i've still got my stock turbo (with correct chips of course) in preparation for the full Vitesse stg 3 kit sometime next year so I guess initially my duty cycle would be quite low so by that token I guess I wouldn't need resistors initially?

Thanks.

Resistors will keep you from frying your DME. Better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

I ran resistors on my 951 and never had any problems. I forget the exact amount but, I believe it was 2 1 ohm resistors, one on each injector circuit (injectors are paired to each wire). The reason you want to run resistors, or it's at least a good idea is that the stock injector resistance and circuit is designed for 5.5ohm resistance injectors, which is apparently a unique resistance as far as aftermarket injectors go. Usually aftermarket stuff is either low impedance (roughly 2-4 ohm), or high impedance (~10-15 ohm). The Siemens #3102's for example are ~2.3-2.4 ohm, so you have nearly 3 ohms less resistance, which means more current and ultimately more heat going through the injector circuit. Extra heat is bad and can damage electrical circuits in many ways. Judging by what I've seen here, it sounds like it's really more under heavy loads that the injector circuit gets a bit taxed and more likely to generate more heat. Overall, it's really easy to splice 2 resistors in, plus they are cheap as hell. I really wouldn't risk it as $5-10 for to excellent quality resistors with built in heat sinks (not really necessary but it looks nice!) is a heck of a lot cheaper than $150+ for a DME.

You get what you pay for but, in the real world $50-70 per injector is a typical price for good quality injectors. I've constantly seen retailers in lots of communities charge $100-200 PER injector, when it's the same stuff and basically just a markup. Hell, Protomotive wanted $1000 for a set of 6 injectors for my 911 that were some sort of modified Ford/Bosch injectors. I got some bolt-in Siemens 3102's for $350 from Racetronix and they work perfectly fine plus I saved ~$700. I realize some here are but, I'm not made of money so I don't look to just brazenly waste it when it's not necessary.

why not just spend the extra $50 and get 83lb injectors and never have to think about it again?
