Default Who is running water/meth?

I am pushing the limits of the 26/6 before I get a larger turbo and want to know how much a water/meth injection helps our engines...

Since I will be running 16+ psi steady I realize my turbo/intake temps will be getting HOT and I want to reduce that as much as possible. So what do you guys think? worth it? and if so.. where are you injecting? I was thinking after turbo and before intercooler, but some have told me to do it jsut before the TB.

TIA

I have mine plumbed in just after the IC in the charge pipe on my 951.

I have a hobbs switch that activates it at between 12 and 15 psi depending on how I have it set.

I also use it on my 944 s/c car. It really worked well keeping the engine alive in this car considering I didn't have an intercooler for a long time. I also use a hobbs switch that comes on at 5 psi on this car and it actually feeds before the s/c.

I just wish I had a chance to use it at the track a couple of wees ago it rained before I even had a chance to turn up the boost.

I really like that I can run the smaller injectors and still be safe.

I usually run a 50 / 50 mix. If I get desperate I will pick up the deep freeze windshield washer fluid and add a bottle of HEET too.

it is effective no doubt the longer it is in the air stream the better it seems to be vaporised and well mixed in the air cleaner works well but can often damage compressor if its not well atomized so the best spot to inject in in the compressor outlet drill and tap the boss next to the turbo ID plate and go in there at at least 50psi trigger it at about 13psi to get the most out it a system that will give you some more ignition advance according to reduced inlet temp so install e the ecu temp sensor upstream of the IC and water injection .
i have a friend currently trying to find the as yet unfound limits of water injection so 20ltr tank motec controlled 1100 psi no and intercooler and several of us are waiting to see how it goes .

I would be carefull in putting it before the intercooler.

It has been my experience that it can puddle and give a big bog when you get on it hence my running it after the IC

HEET is gasoline antifreeze that contains methanol.

This in conjunction with the windshield washer fluid brings the meth to water ratio to about 40/60 per gallon.

WI also allows you to advance timing, it is kind of similar to running with race gas......

Anyone interested in a group buy for a whole kit (100-150psi pump, lines, nozzles, everything else?)

I am looking into the smow performance Stage 2 MAF boost cooler.

http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=9

Would be easy to install and use since it jsut taps into the MAF signal and you can set it at any voltage. $399 for a kit and you can do dual nozzels, extra large tanks, level sensors, etc...

I would be interested in a group buy frm them but it would have to be in about 1-2 months...

I'm waiting for John's kit to come out before I go WI (that and my tec 2 install so I can tweek timing/ fuel).

He really thinks things through on his products and they are tailored for our application.
