Scraped Cylinder wall Question w/ Pictures

Yes last year, rear ended and fixed but the car was never the same, the rear hatch never seated properly and harmfull fumes with xylene came inside the car. I will be buying 951's and parting them out until I find one that catch my eye again. Also this engine of mine will be autographed by me that should be good for another 50rwhp.

the engine is pretty much together, no turbo, no headers, no intake manifold. Included are cam, head, ps pump, ac compressor, cross member with ps rack, oil coolerand alternator. All the belts are untouched.

Ahh, moment of true. If I ran the engine hard probably about 1/2 of a quart every 2 weeks. If I let the engine seat without turning it on for 4-5 days it would burn oil for a little at start up, because of the valve guides, my head was never refreshed it has 108k original miles.

I have a set of headers at SFR from an 89 951 with about 125K on them. No cracks and worked fine with no issues. First person that shows up with $100 can have them. There is also a good radiator, intake, and whatever else is on the motor. Just take the whole engine for whatever you are willing to pick it up for......
SFR is in San Diego. ANY TAKERS?

I have a score on cylinder three, but it is not as bad as the picture you posted, it is very minor, you can just feel it with a fingernail, and it doesn't catch.
When i did the head gasket, i made sure everything was clean and dry, but when i started the engine, a knock noise came, then i figured out that something loose is in there.
When i took off the head for a second time, there was a score on cylinder three, i knew that it was foreign object then, but again i was sure to have everything clean, but it looks like i missed a grain of sand that got lodged between the piston and cylinder.
As long as compression is good (145psi on that cylinder of mine by the way), normal oil consumption then things are alright, don't worry too much about it, unless you do plan on tearing the block at this point (which you are not).

A gouge like that is what pushed me off the fence to do a 2.8 Stroker rebuild. The piston skirt was gouged just as bad. The cause of mine was the stock rings starting to scrape off the Nikasil.
