Geoff, don't sweat it. Very unlikely you hurt anything. The river of oil in your intake was from the extra oil finding a place to go. Your engine will eat it and fart a bit of oil smoke. I've overfilled mine on purpose (track) and never had a problem...but these days I just keep it full. As for the turbo whining...not sure what that is. I would suggest drive it for a while and see if it gets better. Any boost issues?
