For what use? For street and DE use I use Hawk HP+. Many of the full time racers run Hawk Blue or Pagid Blacks. For street only, many run Metal Masters.

Jeremy Himsel is suggesting the Hawk HP+ to me. I still need to do them, but I drove with them on his car with the Big Reds, and they were nice and tight without a terrible amount of noise like you'd get from Pagids.

I love the Mintex Orange, would you believe over 70,000kms/40,000 miles and never replaced?

They never saw the track, but they were used for average driving and spirited driving. Including stopping for speeds over 180kpr/110mph+

For aggressive street use I think you would find the HP+ to be a good compromise. They are a bit heavy on dust though. You may be able to get the performance you want from another brand with lower dust.

Don't go all the way to Hawk blues for street use. They will eat up your rotors when cold and will not reach the proper temp range on the street.

I've used a ton of pads on various cars over the years and for heavy street/de use the Hp Plus have been the best for me. Mintex faded too much from a hard 150MPH stop (never had the ***** to put them on the track), Pagid Orange squeeled like a stuck pig and had poor initial bite on the street, Meatal masters faded a bit too much for me ono the track, Porterfields wore too quickly, Hawk blacks damn near killed me on the street (didn't know they were in there) so for double duty pads the Hawk+ is a great choice.

The down side is they are a bit dusty so you'll have to clean your wheels every few weeks. They still produce less dust then my stock ZO6 pads. I put my first set on 3 years ago and after a 10 DE's and about 30K miles they got promoted to my rear pads when I put on big reds. If you bed them in properly there is very little noise. The plain Hawk HP's were terrible in comparison to the HP+ and I wouldn't recommend them for spirited driving.

Mintex red are crap, took those off as soon as I could (PO installed them). My N/A with it's single piston sliding calipers and all new OEM parts (Rotors, pads) stopped much better.

I always get them from Vertex. I'm sure you can get them for a few bucks cheaper somewhere else but Vertex makes it too easy.

For street and auto-x, the Porterfield R4S have been working great for me. Zero squealing, minimal dust and they stop great. Have yet to overheat them. They specifically say these are not a DE or track pad though.
