Talking LR 340 kit installed - finally

Hey guys, finally able to take the car out today for the first time in seven months. As some of you know, I am a private contractor working with the VA and I have been working in Atlanta. The contract is finally over and I have been able to work on the car again. I have the LR 340 rwhp kit with the exception of a Tial WG instead of LR's. I also have a Stage 1 head with widefire, Steam vent, venturi delete, LR injector/knock harness, etc. I am going to be tuning the Powerperfect for the next few days and will post my results. Once it feels right I will go to the dyno and see where we are.

Wow that looks great and I'm sure it performs just as good. Is that a red dipstick handle?

Are you running a dry set-up?

I notice no turbo pump or coolant x-over pipe.... and that is a NA expansion tank right?

you may want to move the tube in your MAF to about the 10 o'clock position, seems like you have it a bit high where it is. With the curved inlet from the filter, being at 12 o'clock doesn't give the best effective metering of the air going over the wire. Try it at 10 (Lindsey Racing text) and see how the car idles, maybe a touch smoother. Similar to this one we just finished.

I'm thinking you need a couple more hose clamps at the throttle body. At least.

I see two things missing: 1, insulator around fuel lines, and 2, this heat shield you should buy from me!

944cs - I like the idea of that heat shield under the water pipe...cost $$??.
Acetylene, nicccce set-up!!! Engine bay looks awesome. I'm doing basicly the same set-up with the Super 61 turbo. Would like to know what you think once you've have the A/F dialed in. GOOD LUCK

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Yep, the red oil fill cap and dipstick handle are American Tradition Ultra Enamel in Cherry Red Gloss. It holds up to oil and heat very well on plastics.
Hos, yes, its a dry setup. It is the original expansion tank with a cap over the nipple. I am looking for a nice white NA tank on the cheap. I can actually see the turbo now
Bret, I'll try to rotate it back to 10' o clock. The directions did say to tilt it 30 degrees, but that puts one of the outlets on the MAF tree in the way of the inlet pipe for the throttle body. I'll keep working on it.
DDP, Had to use an extra clamp on the TB inlet pipe as it has a pronounced bell and the sleeve big enough to accomodate the bell left a gao over the pipe behind the bell.
944CS, I have a blue powder coated pipe just not installed yet. How much for the shield.

It feels very strong at 10psi. Once I sort the A/F, I'll crank up the boost. The only problem so far is when it idles nice and smooth and pulls hard the narrow band shows border line lean. When I richen it I can only move it to the bottom of the stoich range and runs rough and dies if you let off to quickly. Working on it again today

a bit off topic but... the black cam housing with the silver porsche lettering, how hard was that to do? It looks phenominal, especially on a black car. Did you pull the cover to paint it, and if so, did you need to replace the gaskets?
