It might not be a problem on the conversion but with the stock alternator the belt tension is run very high as per the factory manual and some people still get startup belt squeal with a cold belt.

There is no need for tight tension on this alternator and I have never even heard a chirp o belt noise. One of the easiest and best improvements I have made not to mention relatively cheap.

I am not sure why his belt is so close, mine is not like that and there is plenty of clearance. Maybe he used a different sized belt, I was able to use the factory belt on mine.

Is eniac still around? Anybody know him? Any chance we could get those pics re-posted?
I'm about to embark on the same project and want to know what I'm getting into before I order a new alternator. (Bigger turbo and want the clearance.)

+1 I sent eniac a pm to no avail. Still kicking myself for not saving those pics.

I'm thinking I'll probably just go with the bracket from CEP. This way I don't have to grind down on the alternator itself (and if it ever needs replacing, it's easy to just swap in another one). Plus if I'm ever troubleshooting and suspect perhaps it's the alternator, it's at least possible to swap a stock alt back in (vs. cutting up the bracket to where nothing but the ground down Nissan alt fits).
Traded emails with Dave @ CEP this morning, seems he's out of stock and is working on other projects, says he'll be ready with more in "about a month."
Perhaps if a few others here are contemplating this and interested in the CEP bracket they can email Dave, and maybe if he sees some interest that'll bump the priority a bit?
Nothing at all against those willing to grind on the stock bracket. I just try not to do stuff that becomes a unique "custom fit" part for my specific car.

Howabout just going with a spare bracket? I have 2 or 3 late AC brackets laying around that I've no use for, if you want one to play with. The AC brackets are cast from some really thick aluminum, so grinding (even cutting a relief hole) out of the middle isn't going to hurt anything.

Good luck with getting the CEP bracket...
I believe, but not sure, you must loose the A/C compressor with this alternative. Please confirm if this is true.
Some people opted not to remove material from A/C bracket, but not sure of their method. So if for some reason you are worried about that, it is not necessary, just makes things more simple. As previously posted spare A/C brackets are dirt cheap.

Just going by the picture, looks a whole lot like it is connected to a standard A/C delete bracket. Guess I should have called, but honestly, this picture is why I did not call and ask.
