Default FS: low mileage Turbo S transaxle

I have a low mileage transaxle removed from a 1989 944 turbo for sale. The trans was removed at 77k miles and I am told it is in excellent shape.

Here is the story. My girlfriend and I are flying to denver very early tuesday morning to buy this 89 from a long time rennlist member. It has a 944 S2 LSD trans installed, but it includes the original Turbo S trans. The only reason he removed it was because he prefered the shorter gearing of the S2 trans.

Anyways, I am checking a pallet on the airplane and plan on shipping the trans back to myself when I get there where I will list it for $2300 when I get home. If someone wants it and can buy it before tuesday, I will sell it for $2100 and print the DHL label in your name instead of mine. I think that is a hell of a deal considering I just sold one of these with 122k on it for $1900. This one only has 77k.

If you are interested, please PM me or email me for my phone number.

Thanks
-t

PS-- just in case anyone cares, my girlfriend and I are avoiding the highways the whole way from denver to dallas to atlanta-- seeing some landmarks and driving through a bunch of little redneck towns along the way. Expect lots of pictures !!

I'd take it, but I have 2 turbo S transaxles already. One with 29K, the other w/ 47k...

Seriously, congrats on the purchase, and have fun on your drive home.

(My advice, see how you like the shorter ratio of the S2 gearbox BEFORE you commit to sell a valuable part of your car, in known condition).

Thank you.

. . . and I like the S2 box very much. If I had my choice it would be a 968 6spd with a clutch type LSD, but I will settle for this

How much do you guys think an NA 90,000 mile with an LSD transmission is worth? It is almost as clean as new and NO rust.

EDIT: I am not selling this now, so i am not competing with ted's.

We are flying in, driving the car back. The route we are taking is 2400 miles. I don't want to do that with a stinky transaxle in the hatch area
