No free lunch on this topic, IMO.
Koni 968 M030 or Bilstein Cup units work very well but cost a whole lot. Leda units have a good reputation, but I'm not sure they're still being made. KLA units, not so much. Most KLA parts are cleverly sourced and a good value, but their coil overs seemed to have issues with spring clanking, etc and at last word were no longer being sold by KLA.
You might also consider reinforced bottom mounting bolts as a good investment, especially if you plan to delete your torsion bars.
May be others out there.

Hi MDanger:
Here is what I did. It is not the cheapest but far far from the most expensive and the performance is phenomenal! Good luck!
I just performed a major suspension upgrade to my car and here is what I did. I will point out that I am extremely happy with how it is working (none of the bounciness that you are talking about). I worked very closely with Dave Lindsey at Lindsey Racing and Bob Vaiu at Aut Edge before doing the work.
LR Escort Cup Coil Over. I selected the "street" valving in front.
500# HyperCoil springs in front
350# HyperCoil springs in rear but I had Auto Edge retain the stock torsion bars but set them to neutral at normal ride height. This apparently allows the Coilovers to carry the weight of the car for normal street driving which is a gentler spring action but rapidly feeds in the torsion bars as you start to drive the corners harder
Wrightwood Racing Camber Plates (Camber set at about 1 - 1.5 negative for street and 2.9 for track setting in front and about 2 negative for street in rear). I can send you my complete alignment specs if you like. I also had the car corner balanced (3160lbs with me @ 180lbs and 1/2 tank of gas).
M030 Anti-sway bars front & rear. New suspension bushings but I retained the rubber versions.
Brey Krause strut bar
Rennbay Geometry Correction 19mm ball joint kit for Control-Arms (I had Rennbay machine the spindles out from 17 to 19mm).
I also lowered the car significantly with a slight rake.
The improvement from stock is significant with virtually no body roll any more. The ride is stiff but I would not consider it unacceptable for street use (I am used to sports car rides vs plush rides and prefer that anyhow). I do not see any bounciness in the rear as you have described.
I hope this helps. If not call Bob or Dave. They are a great resource and may save you a lot of money! I know that Bob like the Koni 3012 set up but I did not feel that I needed the double adjustabillity for my purposes and the Escort Cup set up was quite a bit less expensive. Thus far I am very happy with my set up.
Good luck and let me know if I can help you out!
Tom

i'm running QA1's in the back. I believe they were offered by huntley racing.
I don't have enough time behind the wheel to give a proper evaluation, but they work, and they are cheap.
I run with the dampening turned all of the way up.
here is a link to a thread about them.

It broke after 2k miles of use. And since I bought the set used, no dice in getting them fixed under a warranty of any sort. Im not going to bother getting it repaired, since they dont even fit a car with a transaxle cooler properly anyway. The quality on the Escort Cups I have now is much better.

Start reading and get back to me. I have another 100+ PDF pages I would be happy to upload.

i have the QA1's on my car- w/ a cuztom made flip kit to make clearance and move the adjustment **** down to the bottom- work great, no problems to speak of and fit fine w/ the trans cooler. KLA used to sell them- you can get them on jegs still w/o the adapter spacers.
