Default Turbo Electric Water Pump rebuild

Does anyone know where to source the O-ring that goes inside the electric water pump? Its the one on the bottom of the plastic casing with 4 screws holding a cap in place. I hate to have to buy a new pump since mine works fine but leaks around that seal, which is old and brittle. It started leaking last year so I took it apart and reassembled it with some sealer. That has held until now, coolant it seeping from the same area once again.

I really just need to replace that o-ring but haven't been able to find one anywhere.

I just went to a hardware store, with the water pump in hand, and tried some of their o-rings until I found one that fit very nicely. Cost me less than a dollar.

Which section of the hardware store did you find these 0-rings? I went to Home Depot and the guys there had no clue. Only thing they could show me was faucet 0-rings.

I went to a local mom & pop hardware store -- they had about a dozen little metal boxes with every o-ring size you could imagine from about 1/16" diameter up to 5". To hell with Homo Depot!

Hardware Store! Not "Big Box" store. There's not enough profit in 35 cent o-rings for them to stock them.

I got mine from a local Ace Hardware. Looks like there are plenty of them in your area. http://www.acehardware.com/mystore/storeLocator.jsp
