A 500+whp 951 SHOULD break into the 10's with a good driver with that kind of power to weight ratio. Mid 11's is "average" driving with that much power, or at least granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. (last part is a joke!) That's enough power to get the job done. Unfortunately these cars suck for durability with the hard abuse of a hard launch (especially on slicks) and tons of torque so stocking up on spare gearboxes might be a good idea. Not to flame anyone or anything but, running in the 12's with a sub 3000# car and 400+whp is pretty weaksauce. ET's are all launch though, but mph is what's really important. I want to see 135+ ST, no less!

On street tires???
No R compound, REAL street tires.

Ask "vwvotex123" about my new launch/flatfoot system - he just went for a ride.

PFile -> Put the pipe down and step away
Dreaming if you think will get into the 10s on 275 street tires.
Don't car who you are - will never get IRS 951 to launch that hard. NO WAY!

I will eat my words if it happens.

Well I like to give him the benefit of the doubt because he is only 24, but he writes very well for such a young punk.

Btw, Travis have you finished your 951 yet, is your friend Drifto helping to build the car or did you ended up parting the car out of frustation?

I still stand by my prediction Having drag raced a lot... it certainly has the power to weight to run a 10. I know heavier less powerful cars do it. Its all about the 60ft, and with street tyres and the difficulty in launching the 951, a 2.0ish 60ft means a 10 wont happen, but an 11 can.

I just didn't want you to go editing this post anytime in the near future, Luis.

As per our conversation earlier: You need, in addition to launch control, a boost controller that allows you to set boost by gear and some sticky tires. . .

Like a quote in the Supra world. "A 400hp Supra runs 12's and 600hp Supra runs 12's"

I was talking 10's with slicks. I thought you said you would run slicks ST, but I just looked back and saw you said that you wouldn't under any circumstances so 11's makes complete sense. Come on, be a man. In the words of Ahnuld, "DO IT NOW!".

Lart, thanks for caring (yeah right!). Hehe, it's kind of odd but Drifto ended up buying a '95 M3 which is pretty nice: Pic I'm still not sure what I want to do with my 951 though. I'm quickly beginning to realize that there's little point to me dumping more money into my 951 when there are still plenty of things I can do to my 911, but that's just this week. I'm sure next week I'll decide to do something else, and the week after that......

Travis, you are from Texas I am sure you can always find something to do, what about going back to your old hobby, tick farmer?
