Default First Autox

Heres a vid of my first autocross in this car. just put on falken rt615's and new rear koni adjustables the day before. car rotated better with the worn out shocks now it understeers to much. also notice how crappy this location was, i never would have considered this a place to autox, however i drove and hour and a half and wasn't about to let myself become a spectator, and no nobody hit any curbs.

That site sucks!!

I just did my first auto-x in the 951 last Sunday (3rd). The turbo lag really wasn't an issue.....I was worried about that. I actually like it; as it makes the throttle less touchy but still has adequate power off boost.

My times were okay...but it drives so much different than my previous a-x'er (00 Audi S4). Now I have a pretty neutral car that has wheel spin (WIERD!!).....so much different than a pig that pushes and grips like mad!

Interesting comment about the rear shocks. I have some new ones in the garage to go on but haven't got to it yet. What are your fronts set too...soft or hard? Not sure what I should set mine at with this car. Any BTDT?

It's like learning to drive all over again!! My times were similar to the S4 but the driving experience was WAY more fun! The car is WAY better than I am.......

i am used to rear drive cars and to be honest hated the lag of this thing, i feel like on a faster course it would be stuck out of the powerband in second gear, my pervious autoxer was a volvo turbo which had so much more power down low, much better for this type thing

as for the front shocks i had mine soft then firmed them up later in the day which seemed to reduce inside tire spin, but its to hard to say how much it affected the car, because with such long times between 30 second runs was not enough to give conclusive diffrences

i did my first one a few weeks ago too. The tires on the car are terrible (federal something) but I had fun anyway.. Those curbs look pretty vicious, I can't believe they picked that spot.

That looks like a tough place for a first autocross, but congratulations.
Your car looked strong out there!
