Default Rims that will fit a 86 951? anyone?

So right now i've got some 968 cup rims on my 86 951. Yes, i do have very THICK spacers. I experience a bit of understeer with my 205/50r16 or whatever they are and no, i dont think its due to cheap tires. I've got a staggered setup with 205 16" in the front and 225 16" in the rear. on occasion i do experiance understeer as well as oversteer. I want more tread on the ground and keep the handling tight and not just add wider tires to the rims i already have.

So what are my options? What can i get with what i've already got? Whats been done?!?

well as far as what bolts right on there are a few options

stock phone dials -early offset of course

Fuchs- came stock on some early turbos 16"

Cup1 and 2 replicas - heavy 17" but bolt right on and look nice

Several other aftermarket wheels that have correct offset but the $ gets higher and higher as you go. I have some 2001-04 996tt widebody wheels on my car 18" and with a spacer up front and a 15mm slip on spacer in the rear they work fine. I also have 8" early phone dials i run for the track that fit with no problem. Whatever you get youll need 23mm offset front and between 15 and 23mm in the rear without spacers.

What all does one need to convert to the late offset? Just hubs and spindles? Or control arms/trailing arms also?

Thanks.

Man, those old school Fuchs are such a beauty when polished!

Rare, super light and super expensive....

Too bad i cannot find 245/45/16" tires here for them im spinning 1st and 2nd......

Since you already have spacers for late offset, why not pick up 17X9 boxster rims to put at all four corners? that will give you 255's all around.

for late offset conversion you would need

spindles
hubs front and rear
rotors front and rear
lower control arms front
late offset wheels
alignment
late offset inner tie rod ends

I knew you were alright Hosrom!
can't get 245/45 ??? thats tough. Limited options here in a true performance tire that is not pure track. Most are cheapie speed rated or pure race tire. Hankook rs2 is only reasonably treaded street/track tire I found that could be used in rain.

Just send those on over here and I'll give them a good happy home
