Question Mintex Brake Pads?

Has anyone used these Mintex D951MTX brake pads? Are they any good? Can they be used for an occasional track day or just road.

I don't know, ther is a seller on ebay doing braided hoses front and rear and a full set of pads for $129US. Here in Australia, stock pads from OPC are $250Au for a front set.

Well, there are two kind of Mintex pads i know of, the Orange and the C-tec (which comes in a blue box).

the Orage is great for the road and mile track such as DE and so on, i have clocked over 60K kms on my car with new ones in, no dust, no squeel and they are soft on the disks.

C-Tech is for more agressive driving for track.

For the price, i believe the Mintax orange is one of the best pads out there for the road.

I had asked the seller and he said not available for the 86. They were the only year that did not have abs, so maybe that's it.

i use Mintex orange for the road and I like them. They're a little dusty but besides that they stop well and are quiet. I got front and back sets with Anti-squeal inserts from pelican for 100 shipping (to canada) included. I love them and the price is fair.

About the braided brake lines, I would think about it more before you go that route because the reality is they're a track oriented mod and do have drawbacks for a road car.

I used Mintex brake pads with poor results. I am not sure which number or color. They were $39.95 per axle if I remember right. The box was reddish/orange. I think they were called semi-metalic. I went from new to brake pad light in four sessions (not days) of DE, for the front pads. I got three days out of the rear pads. I have 4 days, 27 sessions on Hawk HP+ pads on the front. They are not down to brake pad light, but it is time to change them for the next DE. I am going to try Hawk Blue next time.

I think I got about 2 days on the track with the red Mintex..
So it's not something I would recommend if you track the car.

The Mintex C-Tech are miles better. They are still very good for the street with minimal or no noise and stop good from cold. They lasted probably around 10+ track days.
