Front tires rub??

My front tires rub the top of the wheelwell. I was using 205/55/16 front tires, on seven inch rims. Shocks are Koni gas adjustable, adjusted to firm on the track. I added two pairs of Koni Race Snubbers, as shown on page 104 of Performance Products catalog 69p. The front tires still rub on the track. Are the Koni snubbers too soft to be used by themselves? The Porsche parts catalog shows 951 343 527 00 as a "rubber stop". Should I have used this in addition the the Koni's? Sway bars are stock 25.5 mm front and 18 mm rear. I just got Toyo RA1's, 225/50/16 for the front, & 245's for the rear. I tried 245's with 8' phone dials on the front. They were ok with moderate driving, but rubbed the outer edge of the fender with hard cornering. I do not want to cut out the wheelwell. Any ideas? Thanks, Norm

Hey Norm
Don't know what spring rate you are running, but if near stock a firmer rate will likely clear up your rub issue. With that small a tire and decent spring rate I can't ever imagine rubbing.
My car is about 3.25" off ground , 325# front spring, koni m030 strut, 8" 225/50/16. Don't think I could get it to rub on softest setting even heaviest track use

Im having trouble with rubbing also on my n/a. 200lb springs and lowered significantly, 12.75 inches from the center of the wheel to the lip of the fender. It was never a problem until i switched to 225/50/16 v710's and is only an issue on very tight turns at auto-x.
Ideally bump stops should not be used as you are essentially bottoming out your suspension in that case.
It might be time to start considering a stiffer spring.

On my 89 with stock suspension I had to raise the front 1/2 inch to stop the rubbing after going to Carrera 5 spoke 18 in with Michelin Pilot Sports. Previous owner had it lowered as far as the adjustment would go. On my last alignment I had the ride heights set to:
Front - measure to the bottom of the inside rear control arm bolt. 130mm (5.12")
Rear - measure to the torsion bar tube (the outer part of the torsion bar) 230mm (9.0")
No rubbing and I understand this is as low as you can go before you get into binding issues with the suspension components.
