Default Car starts then dies

Got my car back from "Strictly German" in pasadena whom I DON'T recommend. Car went there as it died and wouldn't start.

Got it back and noticed the turbo water pump wasn't coming on after shutdown. Checked the fuse and it was blown. On the fuse cover it also say's this fuse goes to DME (there is some abbreviation next to DME didn't know what that was)

Put in a new fuse and water pump now comes on but car now will start and run for about 5 seconds and die. I have a new DME relay and tried that but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas before I get it towed AGAIN to another shop?

If it starts, dies, with no response to your gas pedal, then check the wiring to your MAF.

With Ignition on, check for power on MAF connector (between RED & BLACK). You can unplug MAF and check the plug itself.

Hi John,

Email sent.

Just to add to this post. The vitesse stage II is everything as advertised. spool is same or faster than stock turbo with Wayyyyyy more power from there on up.
Car runs much smoother too. Whenever I'm driving it I'm always commenting to myself. "this car is pretty damn fast" I also still have the stock wastegate so am only getting about 12 to 15 psi at best.

another very happy vitesse customer!

I had the same problem. I stopped getting power at the diagnostic port for some reason, and the vitesse maf was not getting any power. I could not figure out why there was no 12/+ power at the disgnostic port, so I just wired the maf directly to another switched power source.

Problem solved. You may have a similar issue.

my friend has a similar problem in his 86... if he nails the throttle, it'll stay running, roughly, for a couple seconds, then die again... check the AFM?
