Default Easy fix for oil leak (probably stupid question)

I have a little oil leak coming from my oil pan gaket and/or rear main seal.
This is a new engine with supposedly all new seals.
My desire to not have to do these big jobs causes me to pose a probably stupid question:
Does anybody know of any stuff they can put in their oil to close off these leaks, but with no negative side effects to the engine?
There are many that say that certain "stop leak" products do work. But, I'm wondering if they also thicken the oil, or have other adverse effects on the oil, or clog up small oil passages, etc.

I switched from Mobil 1 to MaxLife and the oil leaks virtually stopped overnight.

the stop leak stuff just has an additive that swells the rubber seals alittle and makes them seal more tightly. I believe that maxlife oil's have that in the oil as well- for cars w/ over 100,000 miles type of oil.

I have that same oil leak, I think it' usually caused by blow by, it drops on the cross member and burns oil upon contact, I have Amsoil in it, my next oil change I want to change to regular mineral oil in hopes that it will minimize the leakage, where to they sell the "Dino" oil? Do they have it in 20W50?

Is maxlife better than other dino oils? Where can we find maxlife dino oil?? I have a few leaks and I won't mind if they disappeared.

I just wandered into Kragens at bought it -- Maxlife (dino = non-synthetic) is sold just about everywhere.

I put in Pennsoil Stop Leak.
I have it in a couple of weeks now.
Believe it or not I think it's starting to work!
But, I'm going to give it some time to make sure it's not my imagination.
I'll keep you's posted.

Does your car smell like it is an oil burning machine from the leak over the crossover guys? Trying to figure out if my similar leak is the culprit or if my ball-bearing turbo seals are going.

Yes, it feels like an oil burning machine when I floor it and the oil falls on the crossover pipe, when I drive it normal (under 3K rpm) it doesn't happen...
