Jason, that's great that your rubber is working out. I'd love to get some 315's out back. How are those Hoosiers holding up? Did you get your comp licence?
Reno, it's 66mm. Not sure of it's exact origin if that's what you're asking. Got it through Dave McGrath to go with the other changes up top.
Mike, D Devil, David, Michelle, Sunnyvale, thanks for the feedback. As many of you would know it can be a long road and my 5 months off it is probably way shorter than some of those out there, but it seems like forever when you're waiting. Hope to spark her up today. Can't wait.

Reno, The t-body started life as a 10lb block of a aluminum and uses all factory parts ie. tps and throttle arm, spring etc...
Looks great patrick!! Thanks for your support!

No thankyou Dave for your continued answers to all my stupid questions. It's been a steep but enjoyable learning curve.

Patrick, glad to see your project is coming together.
Evil 944t, didn't you mean to say (Accept "pixie dust" answers)?

Thanks John. I will come back to you with the readings we get from the SMT6. Hey I think Dave means that I take 'Exception' at 'Accepting' pixie dust answers. How's that. lol
As far as I'm concerned none of the Vendors on this project have an association with Pixie dust, nor have they implied that anyone else I've dealt with has.

Wow looks like it's getting closer to the time we officially welcome you to the big bore club Patrick ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
In amongst all those exotic parts I really love the larger throttlebody. Did I understand Dave right that he actually made it from a lump of aluminium

Went over to Sean's this afternoon after work to check the car out. Their workshop is in one of those little dead end streets where all the businesses are car related and everyone knows everyone else, the customers, and their cars. So I turn the corner to see my car for the first time since November, out of the workshop, engine running, and a bunch of guys all hanging around it checking it out. You could say that it wasn't one of the best parks that I've ever done in my life so quick did I want to check the car out. It was sitting there burbling away but sounding, how can I put it, like it's ***** had dropped. Much more meaty tone not really sounding like a 4 cylinder. At this point it was just idling as we wanted to get it up to temp and turn it off and drop the oil and change the filter. Sean played around with the SMT6 just to get it to idle as it was running really lean initially but that's the beauty of the tuning capacity of that software and just a couple of twiddles and it was pretty good. So after a few blips of the throttle just to hear it (It sounds fantastic!!!) up on the hoist it went and out came the oil.
Next two days will be just finalising some of the last wiring and gauges plus get the air filter down under the front guard and it should be ready to pick up in 2 days!!! First thing will be to take a day off work and just drive the car for approx. 200kms on no boost and low rpms then go back to the workshop and drop the oil out again and change the filter, put in the race oil which is 25w/60 (
shock horror to all you fully synthetic M1 users hehehe) then drive it for about 500kms in the next week on low boost and varying rpms (not redline), then the car should be on it's way to being run in. There are many different viewpoints on this procedure but we're happy with this one. The big advantage of using the Mid Darton sleeves is that firstly the cylinder walls are very hard and secondly changing out the pistons if needed is easy if needed in the future.
So all in all a good day. Bring on Thursday.

No I don't think Dave made the t-body, but I could be wrong. From what I've seen it's certainly not out of the realms of possibility. I'm sure he'll chime in to clarify.
I know that Jon is very particular on his running in procedure. What sort of miles did you log before you were 'allowed' to give it some Welly?

I'm not that happy about you having a sweeter car than me, but I will manage.

Thanks Anders. Well there are so many amazing 951 / 968t's out, or due out soon that the competition for international honours will be shared globally. Looking forward to yours and many of our European friends cars to hit the road. Likewise on ST's, GUN's, Rolex's, RKD's, and others in the U.S.A., then there's Paul's, Nick's, Thommo's, in the U.K. plus mine, JET951's, Thingo's in good old OZ, so there are many of our cars moving forward in technology, not just stagnating which is such a great thing for the 951 as it was so prematurely extinguished by Porsche.

OK, you all got me!!! My grammar stinks, lol.. Thanks for the spelling check John.
Patrick/Paul - Yes, The throttle body was made. It is not a store bought item. The only thing bought was the butterfly. Everything else was cnc milled. You also have to cut the flange off the stock manifold and weld on the new, provided, cnc'd flange. The stock opening is way to small.
