Default Just bought IceShark kit, Need Voltage regulator?

I just picked up a IceShark kit from another Rennlister. He said it contains everything except the adjustable voltage regulator. Is this a must-have? Can I order one up somewhere online? Do tell!

I am pretty excited to get it installed. I will say that whatever the PO put in my car is definately brighter than what my previous 951 had, but I'm sure these light canons are gonna be a great improvement still.

You dont really need it. I hadnt installed it actually for over 3 years, i finally got around to it last weekend after i took the a/c out of my car. I do notice a slightly higher reading on the voltmeter however. You can find them at many places, you need Transpo IB373A. I think Dan added it to compensate for the voltage drop though im really not sure.

Its a good idea to replace it anyhow, i had about 100k miles on mine and one of the brushes was very worn down.

Not to criticize the IceShark setup, but the voltage regulator was the one item I did not fit in my car. I replaced my original unit with a stock replacement from Bosch. They have been updated somewhat by Bosch to handle the extra power.

I'm in the process of installing my Iceshark kit. While replacing the regulator I found that the armature was worn totally out. I got that rebuilt and bought the cooler parts that were missing. Should have it back together this weekend.
