Custom tail lights complete.
This mod took me a very long time. It required painting, dremeling and grinding for a clean fit and finish. The housing was modified to work better with clear lenses.
I love how they turned out. Just need to do a little clean-up work around the lenses.
PICS: Was a gloomy day in socal (very rare) so the picture quality is not fantastic.
opinions/comments?

Pretty sweet! It would modernize it even more (and possibly smooth the look) if the black lines we done away with, but I don't know how possible that would be. Such as one solid white on top (with internal dividers like BMW and on sold red on bottom etc.
But NICE work!! Looks factory

nice job. where did you get your clear lens from?
here's a suggestion: remove the front license plate frame and install it the back and throw away the one currently there. it will center your license plate instead the standard droopy appearance. get some bumper plugs for the front holes or buy a new front frame on ebay for 10-15 dollars.

GOSANE: ehhh.... not to sure about that
dime1622: thanks!
Porschephile 924: *added to ignore list*
guns951: If that was possible, i'd be all over it!
KuHL 951: i'll write a quick diy in my next thread for ya!
RK951: Bought the clear tail light turn signals from turnclear.com and the square clear lense from another set of OEM tail lights. The lower middle red lense was also replaced for a brake light lense
Acetylene - thanks! It is a AIR front splitter.
potent951turbo86 - thanks! I was tempted to keep the brake lights alone.. but wanted something a bit different.

quick DIY
1. remove the lenses with a hammer
2. use a dremel to grind down the interior housing until your replacement lenses fit properly. You will also have to grind the lenses down accordingly also.
3. paint the lenses:
*note* DO NOT MASK OF THE CHROME SECTION! It peels off and turn black. I had to purshase a can of chrome spray paint (bought at kragen) to respray the interior housing.
4. paint the trim line on your lenses: (as shown in picture above)
5. Buy a quality CLEAR glue to secure the sucker down. I used a dupont clear with great results.
modified housing for the brake lights: I used the black rubber seal when you remove your tail lights to block out any light from the block off plate.
modified lighting:
quick notes *
- the lower middle red lense was replaced with a brake light lense
- the Orange bulb looks bad. I need to purshase a silver one that illuminates amber/orange.
