Default Supra MKIV Aerotop V8 turbo project

Well this is the project and whats done to date!

Parts and work done so far...

Toyota 1UZ alloy 4.0 V8
Supra R154 5 speed box
Tilton hydrolic release bearing
Tilton triple plate sintered clutch
Custom spun flywheel
Custom cast bellhousing
TRD ****
Linkplus G3 ECU
Custom loom
Twin 10" radiator fans
S2000 engine start switch
Custom water pipes
Custom alloy intake

All the maintenance bits like mounts and water pump etc...

Still need to do:

Custom driveshaft
Move shifter
Make gearbox mount
Buy some turbos!

Stage 1 is basically get it going NA. To be completed in a month or so. 250WHP

Stage 2 is throw a turbo (T51R or GT45R if single or twin GT28 or similar) and water injection running 10:1 compression and circa 13psi for around 550-600WHP.

Stage 3 custom CP pistons and rods, head work and cam, more boost (mid 20's and 800+WHP

The goal for the car is to have a 10 second street car that can handle a little circuit fun and be a comfortable GT car.

stay single. Plenty of guys running the t51R as well as the GT stuff.

Fyi are you trying to keep it pump gas? Cause that motor with that turbo will make 600hp on pump fuel all day long?

There was one in houston that made 1042.

What is that V8 out of, and is it NA to begin with? Sorry I am not that familiar with Toyota's other then Supra's. I love the Mark IV's but I think the factory spoiler is a must the finish off the look.

^ agreed. I was actually debating over buying a MKIII turbo but then I fell in love w/ the 951...

So was the stock 2JZ the N/A motor then? I find it amazing that the MKIV was so much bigger than the III and yet it is lighter...cool.

Good luck! Thanks to Fast and the Furious those cars now go for ~$20-30k for one in decent condish!

While it may ruffle some feathers, there is a Porsche 928 that will be doing this soon, with an auto. Another with a 5spd. EFI, Sleeves, Boost, perfect tuning.

Awesoem project. How much heavier is the V-8? Couldn't be much with the straight 6 from that car being an iron block.

The stock GTE motor is possibly with a HUGE turbo running 30+ something PSI and some lag. This is still a street car and the V8 will have a lot better torque curve
