That was a shambles and he should retire ASAP. Even you couldn't have been proud of that win. We had it all over you except that first try of yours on the Lhs. The other tries had forward passes probably from penalties that should never have been awarded due to him losing control of the Kiwis pulling down the scrum and awarding you the penalty. ha what a joke.

Car looks great though. Factory finish.

Hey Tim, yeah not many at all VQ's around in the wreckers here! The 1UZ costs USD500 here, so that played a big role, plus mixing brands doesnt sit well with me. The motor is unopened, though I have a head almost done to go on which should give a lot more flow as the head is a real economy job.

I did see a video clip of the VQ you did, pretty impressive unit, lots of nice technology...

yeh a VQ would cost double if you could get one .and the car wouldn't realy be any faster due to the V8 haveing a little more cubes and therefor low end .

I keep thinking about a turbo 3.5 v6 I'd love a late holden one but there are plenty of good ones out there like the merc the toyota even the mitsu

The VQ makes more torque then you think. I said Nissan because you had a Toyota and I just seen a
2JZ in a 350Z. So I thought what the hell, give him a little sh*t.

haha yeah I think if I was going nissan I would go RB30, get a RB30 block and RB25/26 head. Pretty cheap power...

I get a lot of greif about taking out the 2JZ, and if my car was the RZ I wouldnt do the conversion, but to an NA auto POS, hell yes.

Hmmm yeah I wouldnt do it to a Porsche, because I prefer to keep the makes of chassis and motor the same, but thats personal preference. The 944 chassis (turbo) is pretty decent, so no doubt would react well to the conversion. The 1UZ is common, cheap, reliable... makes a lot of sense.

if i could sell by 3.0 stuff it would be an easy choice but as i have a few grand tied up in it and they can't be sold in australia its not an easy I will spend 6 or 8 grand getting the 3.0 to hang together and it will still be 100 ftlbs short .

Oh yeah if you want lots of power... its not cheap in a Porsche! I spend twice as much for 100WHP less in the Porsche compared to this. Sure its still just a Toyota, but hey, Ill have a 911 as a daily driver and something cheap to fix and get power from as a track car. Mind you Im building a class car AE86 at the moment
