**This is NOT the finished product, it's not even CNC machined - I made it on the manual lathe/mill for proof-of-concept**


Anyway, here's a preview of what I'm coming up with........They are all going to be 6-port for future expansion, I will provide 2 blank-off plugs. The screws I have stuck in there are just a placekeepers to show what it's going to look like. The real fittings will be brass barbed-type that will be made to fit the Lindsey type silicon hose. There will also be a jam-nut to secure the manifold once you have it in the orientation you prefer. More to come........

Nice! Quite different from Laust's design.

 

Yeah, his design worked great - but would have been a nightmare to produce in quantity.

Another thing, I wanted to get rid of that aweful bajo bolt.

 

Does the design change bring my "original" up in value?

 

Daniel - I think we need to go about commissioning you to create a new intake plenum...

 

Sorry to ask a stupid question but why would you need 6 lines out of the inlet?

 

Basically, you would have every single vacuum line come from that point rather than teeing off down the line or in other places. Really cleans up those hard vac lines.

Most people don't need 6 (or 5) so that's why Daniel is including two plugs.

 

Not to be a buzzkill, but I sort of liked how the laust's fit all snug like up against the intake. Was a lot less obvious/looked stock.

It makes me wonder what porsche was thinking when they created the disorganized mess of vacuum lines. This looks much cleaner.

 

Probably cheaper for a couple feet of plastic hose than to make something like this.

 

What are you running off these vacuum lines apart from boost gauge?

 

You are basically getting rid of all the t-intersections on the red lines in this pic, and running all the lines off of the manifold.

So it looks like fpr, the other thing on the fuel rail, bov, and the klr. That is 5 counting a boost gauge (which is the most laust's original one had).

really like the idea, the weght will be longer out from base and not have any support, could it be a concern that vibrations and such will make it ruin the threads into intake and start leaking?
