Looking for 951 mechanic
Looking for a 951 mechanic in the Orange Co. California area. It seems like its getting impossible to find one.. that wants to work on these cars. I have all the enthusiasm, but average mechanical ability and... am a little tenitive about diving into a rebuild with some performance mods. If anybody can refer me to someone, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Don't forget to check out Speed Force Racing. Turbo Tim and his gang know these cars. www.speedforceracing.com
They work on other cars, but started out with 944's only. The market demanded them to tune other rides. Their twin turbo setup for the 350Z and G35 are awesome.

Brantley, stopped in there awhile back and spoke to (not sure who it was) someone, but when I mentioned performance mods in the same breath with 944 turbo, he didn't really want to get involved. Maybe things have changed? By the way...i'm in Rancho Santa Maragrita. thanks for the info.

Probably hasn't changed then... I didn't have too many mods then so maybe he didn't mind.
I've been to Hergesheimer Motorsports (www.hergesheimer.com) in Lake Forest and they complained about mods on my former 951 as well, so I didn't go to them. They are also fairly expensive and primarily like to deal with 911s. Have you tried them?

yeah.. talked to Mark a couple weeks back. Got a similar response. He reccommended Greg Brown of Precision Motorwerks in Anaheim who is very familiar with 951's. Also, spoke with the guys over at Vision. They're moving away from working on 951's as well. I'd better get up to speed on how these cars work quick! no punn intended. thanks again

Reviving an old post, since there aren't any recent answers... I'm looking for an OC mechanic. Suggestions? I'm looking for a timing belt/water pump replacement and to stop a pesky oil leak that's keeping me from doing track days.
I used to go to Frank at Haus of Performance, but he's only doing race upgrades now.
Vision doesn't touch 951's anymore. They referred me to Michaelangelo Motorwerks, who I used for awhile, but he's a BMW specialist and not really responsive to phone calls.
I just checked Euromasters over the weekend - the service manager said their head mechanic used to race a 944, so he knows the car well, but I haven't heard back from them yet.
Is Precision still around and do they work on 951's?
Anyone have any recommendations?
