Well, you'll find out soon enough especially if you crank the boost on that beast!

well i have had the vitesse stage 3 kit on the car for a few months now and have done a few track days as well and the clutch seems to be just fine up to 1.8bar boost. thats was a fair bit of power going through it and it held very well, no slip what so ever, but saying that the car will have proper compression ratio now and a bit more torque so we will see.

now Update day 3, Got the head on today with the cometic head gasket and torqued it on. all went well. unfortunatly the hoist wasnt free today so the engine will be in tomorrow morning, and i finished my 3 inch down pipe with V-band clamp, it took some shaping but it went very well. also got around to putting the cam belts and associated componets on too. all in all it was a good day. i cant wait to fire it up.

Are you using stock cylinder head studs?

As for the cometic head gasket, i saw images of them with holes going across the gasket, for coolant. They were going across the whole gasket, i only see two on you'res.

brand new stock head studs. the coolant openings must be only at the back of the head, this is because of the flow of the coolant, the water pump flows coolant through the block towards the back cylinder then up into the head and forward towards the top radiator hose. if the coolant passages were towards the front of the gasket itself then little flow would reach the 4th cylinder

Yes the race is hotting up to get our cars ready for this season. Sean's looks good and should be driving by tomorrow I'm guessing. I'm still waiting on parts and machining. Rod will run his 951 until his 968 t is ready.

here is todays update. get the engine in the car first thing, then the clutch gear box etc. then the vitesse turbo went on. the downpipe lined up perfectly. we then wired up the new oil temp guage. then we got stuck into the rest of the exhaust and made our own 304 mandrel section cat section. this took all afternoon. here are some pictures. i will go into work tomorrow(sunday) and finish off the car. so by tomorrow night i should be driving home. i almost forgot, there is a pic of the new racers edge camber plates that went in the car last week.

Nice stuff! Do you have a custom strut brace welded in?

hey Bill,
i made the strut tower myself, i used 2 mm mild steel for the strut towers as you can see in the top pic. the brace itself is just solid alloy with counter sunk allen key bolts. i will show a few pictures of it when it goes back on the car.

Hey Sean,
I don't know much about exhausts but straight and smooth sounds good to me.
Looks great! Might see you tomorrow or else Monday arvo if / when the 5th box turns up. Can't wait to hear it fired up.
