Default No Start (Part 3) Need help in SAN ANTONIO.

Ok well I just replaced the female side of the speed and ref sensors and if youve been reading my threads I just replace the actual sensors. I could get my car started but it would sputter and then die. Now that I replaced the Female side using shielded wire and solder and new connectors, I cant even get the car to fire.

I checked for spark by pulling a plug off the spark plug and putting it on the intake manifold. When cranking I do not see anything. No spark.

Can anyone in the San Antonio area come and help me out. Also how can I check for ohm reading on the female side of the speed and ref sensors?? I want to make sure the wire isnt shorting out or something. A link or some in depth detail on how to do it would be nice because Im a noob.

Did you try the fuel relay yet? How's your tach while cranking? I'm having a no start problem myself but hopefully yours goes better than mine has.

did you check for spark from the coil. If you get spark there (but not the plugs) then maybe it is a bad cap or rotor, Can you hear the injectors click when you turn it over? Use a test light if your not sure.

Does your car have an alarm? if so, look at clarks garage and take the alarm relay out and jump it. My sons car was doing the same thing and it turned out to be a bad alarm module. Jumped around it and problem solved. hope that helps...

Keep it simple. There is plenty you can do without a scope. The reason the air metering system was mentioned is that when the connector to the air meter (connection at the air box) is disconnected, the car will sputter at startup and die if you hit the gas. If it isn't running at all then finish the check for spark and verify that the injectors are running. That will help determine which direction to continue the search.

ok well I tried a few things but had to stop before the big game.. Can anyone verify the female side of the wires on the speed and ref sensors: 1= Brown wire , 2 = white wire, 3 = Black... I know a few of you have changed the female connectors. I jumpered the dme relay to make sure the fuel pump was on but that didnt work. Havnt tried bypassing the alarm yet but Its started before plenty of times so I dont think that would be it. How exactly do I check the injector wires and spark at the coil?? I dont have a testing light or anything. ohhhh.. and I soldered every wire on the speed and ref sensors female side so everything should be good.
