I feel your pain, mine did that just the other day too...

Too bad you bought it so soon, I remember seeing one on eBay yesterday.

Good luck!

I have repaired a few leaky ones, just take it apart, put some rtv ("the right stuff" from autozone) on the o-ring, reassemble. Might be worth a try before buying a new one.

mine was making alot of noise before i pulled the motor. I pulled it apart and cleaned it up, reassembled it and re-crimped everything. Worked for a month or so then started making noise again. Now its leaking. Oh well, its such a pain to install i figured may as well get a good one.

Yep. I've taken the approach that replacing 20 year old electrical equipment with used stuff is a waste of time, and I don't think the new stuff will be getting any cheaper.

It's worth getting a recent one, as the new version is somewhat updated over the early pumps.

I discovered while working on my friends '87 Mercedes 300SDL that they use the same electric pump and it's less expensive at a few parts places I tried. Only problem is you'll need to solder on the Porsche connector, the Benz has a different plug. Turns out the diesel Benz's need help circulating coolant into the heater core at idle.
