Ok, this could be considered out of line, and has no place on these forums.

The poster above being attatcked for his story though is a little out of line. And for people, especially fellow porsche owners, to pretend like their little angels on the road, is rediculous. Grow up.
Good point, I stand corrected. Like I said, not trying to "attack" anyone, and I certainly never claimed to be an angel on the road.

Agreed, theres also a difference of reading a thread, and hitting the back button, and reading a thread, then posting up "omg you raced!?!?!"

Nice, it's always good to stretch the legs every once in a while. I'm not a very aggresive driver, but some people just ask for it. I'm usually speeding up to get away from them because theyre usually darting around traffic just to catch up...damn hondas...Either way, what mods are you running? I don't know how my car would do against a 996.

Bottom line is that the world is not perfect people get hurt everyday, in a car or doing anything for that matter. But we can drive with the upmost respect for the road and others so just be aware that there are others out there and keep them in mind when you are racing that evo at 150 mph in and out of traffic. Or driving your white 993 the speed limit down to the drug store to pick up your medication!!!!

Seriously though does anyone really think that getting mad at someone for telling a STORY about going fast is really justified..... OH WAIT I DONT KEEP THE STORIES COMING! THERE AMUSING AND SOMETIMES FUN TO HEAR ABOUT>CAR FORUM PEOPLE< HELLO>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well, if you think that anecdote is politically incorrect, you'd be shocked, shocked at what happened several years ago when a bunch of us got together in British Columbia. Cruising all day, often at 6 figure speeds. One guy (some folks say it was Brian, but I'd never rat him out) achieved terminal velocity. The 928 cars that showed up turned out to be more talk than walk, and lagged the pack.

Racing cars on the track is the right place do do just that race, that way when you make a mistake on the EDGE you will do no harm to those that are not asking for said harm (ie. signing the waiver that all race tracks make you sign)

So when on a public road if driving your automobile at normal speeds and never exceeding any kind of traffic laws why own a Porsche car for street use. Everyone should buy a hybrid right? Wrong I live in America and I drive like an American! I follow the laws most of the time but I will use the freedoms that all of us Americans have and that means that once in a while- I WILL SHOW THAT CAR OR CAR'S NEXT TO ME THAT A 400 RWHP 968 TURBO S WITH A LIMITED SLIP 6 SPEED WILL BLOW THIER DOORS OFF IN A STRAIGHT LINE, AROUND CORNERS, AND UP UNTIL 180 mph LEAVE THEM IN THE DUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will do this all as safely as humanly possible of course. No smilies can portray what I feel right now. -Shawn C. Morrison

Thank Christ! I thought I was the only one rolling my eyes in despair when I read that admin thread!

People can choose whether they read threads or not so you don't have to read the 'I had so much fun racing a ..... and it made me remember why I don't drive a hybrid' threads. I love reading peoples stories and I love playing with other cars on the road you don't have to drive dangerously to have fun and how could you justify owning a Porsche if you never went over 60mph?! My turbo doesn't even hit full booth till 70+

Please can we keep the politically correct anti car, anti fun nonsense out of our Porsche forums! It infects every other area of our lives!!

Regards,

Ben
