Really, I’ve had 3 951 turbo engines before this one, from stock to fully knife edged, camed, vitesse turbo, maf, injectors, p&p head etc. And although they performed well, there is still no comparison to the V8 in terms of performance. I don't know how our cars run on a mod to mod versus all other brands (corvette, viper etc.) I don’t street race. But on the same car (my current one), I’ve had both engines, and that is what I base may conclusion on, not hearsay or videos. I’ve seen Flavios car on the track many times kick all but the best prepared full racers (including ferrari, viper, 911, and other fast 951's)not as much during cornering but down the straits and under acceleration out of turns.
I realize that the V8 is not your thing Lart and that’s ok. I was not much of a fan until I rode in a German Performance conversion and then got back into my 951. But don’t tell that a high hp 4cyl engine, which usually has a power curve that looks like the start of a roller coaster ride is the same as that of a V8 that give more than 70% of peak torque at 1400 rpm
In any case, enlightenment is good thing, no matter when it happens

I just don't get the swap thing.
Why not get a Corvette? Something that was engineered?
Obviously any real racing sanction (not DE day ) would move you up with cars of similar displacement.....where that Frankenstein would be a backmarker.
Some guys like a challenge and some guys are simple and want easy HP, I mean, it doesn't take too sharp a stick to get HP from a small block.
Can't you get a how-to book at the grocerey store?

Ill find out for you. The fenders are similar if not the same as those sold by GT-racing. They are wider than standard, see item 212 on the GT-racing catalog (944 parts).
Im glad to see the turbos evolve to 500 hp. They all mostly look like works of art as cetainly your will be too.
But remember that a crate LS7 (505hp stock without mods) can be bought today for 12.5K,

And I read that he beat those other cars, and that you owned several 951s too. But my friend watch out, for in 2007, there are going to be some pretty fast 951s like you've never seen, street cars that is. I would say as of now with a mere 2.5L, that Special Tool is still "Top Dog" on Rennlist with his 500 RWHP + car. So don't underestimate new technologies with our 951s, for we are evolving faster and faster.

I found another staged video, this is a awesome truck vs another 951, you can see that the awesome pick up with it's loads of torque could have destroyed the 951 if it wasn't because the truck was hitting the breakes.

now the real question which would prop win at a track event. i prob know the answer to it. a 951 with a v8 swap vs a 951 with the hp and tq equal and drivers too. a standard cage and weight reduction to both cars o tire size and type of tires, suspension and brakes equal. maybe the v8 might need bigger brakes and stiffer suspension due to weight of the engine

The V8 in my car weighed 30 lbs less than the turbo engine with the intercooler. The old LT1's had iron blocks but the LS series are all aluminum.
Ive seen the race that you propose, its not close.

Don't get me wrong, Flavios's car is espectacular a true beast. I was interested in buying but my friend Geno who is doing the ls2 951 street conversion said that he was going to sell it to me.
