Joe, you should run your car through and see how it goes. Especially since you were talking about getting into an even bigger 951 project in the near future.
I guess it would be considered a "resto mod" and with those numbers of yours and how clean a car it is, might bring some big numbers at that level of auction.

Oh, I thought it was fixed now.
No, trying to get a bad *** 951, and the 951 community, global attention.

Problem is that I don't know how well recieved a modified 951 would be at the Barrett Jackson. Typically the guys buying there are looking for cars of historical or collectable interest and unfortunately a modified 951 just doesn't do it. No matter how much we love the cars the guys with the dollars would rather spend the dough on some 1960's old school memorabilia.

But in the last few years the "resto mod" market has really gotten big.
I agree a super decked out 951 is not in the upper levels of that but I think, seeing some of the resto mods on there, that it would make a good showing.
Also, those guys seem to really gravitate towards the cars that are "out of the box" and not seen very often.

They like resto-mod as long as it's pre 1970. The 951 isn't going to be considered anything more than a bastard child Porsche to those guys. I know Joe has speculated about putting it in the Barret Jackson but there is little chance that two people are going to fight over the car to push it up to the price it should get in our eyes. I personally think it would be a depressing thing to see and ultimately a waste of Joe's time.

On a more serious note, what might help with the resale value and interest in Joe's car would be if we could get it featured in a magazine like European Car or Excellence or Panorama. This way he gets good exposure and a prospective buyer can drool over the pictures with no expectation of what the market value is. How hard would it be to get Joe's car in a magazine? I'm thinking a campaign is in order. First Joe's, then Guns951, then ST's - provided he gets off his duff and breaks that 600 rwhp mark like he promised - and finally Rolex's. Hell, how about all in the same article? Now that would be cool........

Ill be at Barret. I think a 951 in great shape w/ low miles and good mods would bring decent money. nothing huge or even over $20k-$25k but you cant really get anything over that anyways for a street 951 w/ mods. It would be cool to see one their though.
Ive seen newer trucks and plain newer cars so a awesome 951 will blend in somewhat. IMO
